Do you remember USB 1.1? The USB 1.1 port and plug look like a USB 2.0 port and plug, but a USB 1.1 port/plug will not deliver USB 2.0 speeds when one connects a USB 2.0 device to a USB 1.1 interface.
The same goes for the MDP and TB interface.
While TB might look like MDP, they are not the same.

VW and Audi both have their respective ads as well; I like the Passat ad.

VW's spots were both brilliant! The Beetle one was great and the Darth Vader Kid was funny, too. The Audi ones were a bit long, funny, but you really have to want to watch them. I know they're teasers, but I couldn't even finish the Kenny G one. I will say I chuckled a bit at the first Scared Straight one when the guy said he has enough money to bring the stuffed bear back to life. Great line!

You won't be able to find a display with resolution of 2560x1600, which is the maximum res of Mini, for 350$. Those go for around 1000$ at least. The best you can get is 1920x1080, or 1920x1200 if you're lucky.

Essentially, we need to find someone who still has the Optimum 1.0 app on an iPad 1. Then they can jailbreak their iPad, crack the app and upload it to us.
Until then, 99% of us are SOL :apple:
I know I am willing to pony up my appreciation if/when this is done. Others?

Yes, you need Quicktime 6.3 as the AAC codec resides withing that, not iTunes. iTunes merely borrows it.

I have a 16GB iPod touch (1.1.3 with apps, Incase black protective cover, Power Support anti-glare protector) and would like to trade for an unopened 8GB iPhone. I have the original box and all the stuff it came with. There are NO MAJOR scratches on the back, just normal ones from my iPod sock. The screen has no issues nor scratches. It's been used since Christmas day, but looks new.

I keep reading about MacRumors members running into each other at Target, Best Buy, etc. Since this is a huge forum, full of individuals with a shared love for Apple products, I thought I would throw this out there.
Have any of you members met each other in order to make a trade that is mutually beneficial? I ask because I have a brand new, unopened 32GB Black WiFi only iPad 2 that I bought from Target on Wednesday. I haven't opened it because I'm hoping to find a white version with the same specs.
Anyone within 50 miles of Champaign, IL (61820) have an unopened white version and looking to get the black version. If so I would be willing to meet and do a straight up swap somewhere in the middle of our locations.
Chances are slim, and I won't die if I have to wait but I thought I would take a shot. Also, if Target takes back iPads that are opened and don't charge a restocking fee then I guess I could just open the one I have and use it until I find a white version. Anyone else using this tactic?

Every time I read these threads I'm reminded why I don't have an iphone. Yeah, I have many other Apple devices, including a 3G iPad, but no iphone. I refuse to be a slave to the man. I wish subsidized devices didn't exist in this country. It reduces competition by locking people into contracts and ultimately holds technology back. Yeah, more people can own the "coolest" phone, but IMHO the ends don't justify the means.
You wish everyone had to pay $700 upfront for a smartphone?
That doesn't make much sense.. Your whole position doesn't make much sense.
Making products more accessible to more people and more affordable reduces competition and holds technology back? Again your post makes no sense.

Oh wait..I cant work and I cant drive. Damn my age!
Anyway man, to be honest, I think you should really be advertising in the Union Tribune Classifieds or something like it. Posting on a multinational Mac forum wont really get you much.

Hi, need a little help from the web guru's.
So my site has a gallery page, with a bunch of images. I've used css to get border-radius, reflections, etc. The css reflections however don't render in all browsers, Firefox being the most important one. So as a graceful degradation I added a box-shadow to make the images look better in Firefox/Opera. Comparing Safari and Firefox/Opera, this works perfectly - reflection / no shadow in Safari, and shadow / no reflection in Firefox/Opera.
Google Chrome on the other hand, even though it uses webkit decides to render the box-shadow despite there being no -webkit- prefix. Is there any way to have the box-shadow display in FF/O but not in Chrome? The shadow kind of ruins the reflection.
The website is temporarily hosted here - costantini.mw gallery (http://f3-preview.host-ed.net/costantini.mw/Gallery/gallery.html)
While we're at it, the site is unfinished but some feedback on other pages and the design would be appreciated.
Cheers guys,
Stef

Hi everyone - being a newbie the following:
Just installed a bigger and faster new HD in the mini - is there any way to start the OS installation without a wired keybd? (i.e pressing 'c' ) all I get now is some DVD churning sounds and a grey screen telling me to restart the machine.
If there is no way - how would I go about ejecting the darned DVD out of the mini without taking everything apart?
hoping for some good answers.

It works without the Internet. When connected to the non-Internet network, do you see the little WiFi bars in the status menu and/or does the iPod get a proper IP address?
