You can buy from a non-university/college network, but it requires that you're 18, and therefore it most likely only applies to university students. Or others in further education past the age of 18.
Edit:Just checked, it also requires that you have a valid student card, so I'm assuming this backs up the above thought.

Why not View-Source, and look for the URL for the movie itself? Then you can just get it (and if you have wget installed, you can just wget it)

Why not View-Source, and look for the URL for the movie itself? Then you can just get it (and if you have wget installed, you can just wget it)

Yeah, I can see that's where the majority of Apple's profit this last quarter came from. $546,000,000.
By your estimate, that's less than one tenth of one percent (<0.1%) of Apple's profits. Hardly a cash cow. Even if you underestimated by a full magnitude, it's not that impressive.
$1.8 mil/year may seem like alot to you or me that makes less than $50k/year, but to a company that does over $15,000,000,000.00 in sales a year it's little more than a drop in the bucket.

I an not such an idiot to think 1.8 mil annually is enough for a company with $10 Billion in cash reserves to to be interested in . The point I was attempting to make, is small numbers with big multipliers are IMPORTANT and a revenue stream of greater importance than acknowledged. Further to my point it has been acknowledged by Jobs and his critics that the reason the iPod is a huge is because it is part of a complete system. Loose iTunes and you loose the dominance of the iPod, just ask the folks at Creative. Pennies on the dollar, or dimes on the dollar, iTunes is a big business supporting a much bigger business. Remember before iTunes and the iPod you could not shut the Apple doom sayers up and Apple stock was something someone making $50K a year could buy without dipping into the savings account. Yep. I agree. And if you've used Android lately on a phone, you'd say iPhone what?!?! Apple still has the more solid tablet but Android OS will have that market by summertime as well.
Don't bother flaming, it's well documented in the sales figures that Android has taken the #1 spot in the Phone OS model... my only point is Apple is at a critical turning point in their history. They can give customers what they want, or restrict. Customers don't like to be restricted, and like me, seek alternatives when cornered.
no argument here - but i hate the fact android manufacturers are restricting their phones with encrypted bootloaders etc (motorola, and now htc) which definitely affects being able to flash your device with whatever. not to mention with att's android devices you have to root them to even be able to install the amazon market due to even more restrictions. also waiting forever for the latest android update to go from google -> manufacturer -> mobile provider -> customer... with each putting their own crapware on it
if i ever make the switch, it will hopefully be to a google released and supported phone on at&t. i know the nexus s is a samsung device, but at least it receives pushed google updates.
but i feel you, i get frustrated with all of this too. if it wasnt for jbing, i would have ditched the phone long ago.

A friend of mine wants to insert a small clip into a DVD movie. Now I'm trying to think of how I could easily do that in a day, and frankly I'm coming up short. So I was wondering if any of you guys could give me some advice.
So here's what I want to do in short:
Have a Movie on DVD.
Want to put a clip (friend is asking a girl to homecoming) in the middle of the movie.
Want to put the spliced movie back onto DVD.
My orignial idea was to use a camera with DV passthrough, record it onto computer, then use editing software to put the clip in and put it on DVD. But if anyone else has a better idea, that would be great.

yes. I've never seen the allocator and release in different functions. I always make a separate destructor though.

Could it be the USB connection on the Hard Drive? I've seen before some portable hard drive connections are very sensitive, try moving the USB cable around a bit and see if ejects it. But as the other guy said take it back and get a new one.

For the Tekkeon: Wondering if I could use a female cigarette-lighter adapter (from Tekkeon), plug a DC-to-AC inverter into it (http://www.batterygeek.net/200-Watt-DC-AC-Power-Inverter-p/200wattdctoacinverter.htm), then a MagSafe power adapter into that. Albeit potentially rather energy/power inefficient (or *is* it?) and quite bulky, but could it still work?
(Other, "native" DC options listed above probably much preferred of course...)

The new multi touch gestures are pretty cool. Safari got a lot of really pretty animations to go with the multi-touch gestures... although its more bugged than simply using the backwards and forwards buttons.

I was at home, my sister was watching the news. She had just heard about it. So I got ready and walked to school. When I got there, everyone was talking about what had happened. I went to my first period class (I was in 8th grade). All of my teachers were saying that this was becoming a part of history. I watched the news all day except in one class. The b**** didn't care about the two towers and thought it was nonsense to watch it. When I saw the Towers fall I was in shock, it was like omg. How can a structure like that just go completely down. It was so sad and strange to watch.

Browsers are evil. More time can be spent "fixing" inconsistencies than actually designing the page. I normally use FireBug to step through page blocks and examine CSS. I've seen IE choke on something as simple as a missed semicolon.
A guess right off the top is that it might be something with the box model. IE tends to interpret things a little differently so check your margins and padding closely. If that fails you might want to start with a blank page and add in components until the page breaks.
By the way: It displays OK in IE8.

How much more could the cards value possibly go up. Except for a collector who would pay more for the original card than what the computer its going into will be worth. So IMO I would sell it.
