Is it just me, or did you just register to BUMP THIS THREAD and do some advertising for that site? How lame...
Actually, it is just you. ;) Granted he is a newbie, but he is actually one of our past clients who really liked the work we did for him. And being that he is a bit computer savvy, and I asked him to jump on the fourms and give us plug if he wanted to. Sorry for the misconception. :D

It is better than MDP, as it supports chaining of two external monitors from the one port, which MDP does not. Plus like a further 4 TB devices as well all in the chain.
I read this article http://circlesixmagazine.com/?p=4056 that basically said the same thing. Only, to clarify, it's not just 4 TB of devices more. I was under the impression that you could do up to 4 1080p monitors, with hard drives, or anything else, a digital mixer, a video capture card, etc.. The real question will be can you loop in more than 10TB worth of stuff and, so long as it's not monitors, have the use of them be determined by available bandwidth. What do you think?

Hey guys;
On Saturday, I have an interview scheduled for the Genius position at the Apple Store in my area. I am prepping myself, with the standard questions: "Why do you want to work at Apple?" "Name a weakness that you have" stuff like that. I am also perusing all of the Mac forums I can, so that I can "prep" myself with technical questions, as well. I am coming to you, simply for more help!
I'd love for you to post any types of questions you think might be on the interview. For those of you who have gone through them before, I understand that there is a non-disclosure agreement, and I am not asking you to break that. I simply want questions you think that they may ask, so that I can feel more prepared.
I feel that interview questions may range from "What's your favorite Apple product, and why?" to "Name a time when you have to exhibit leadership", to "What is the joint-venture program" and up through "What do you do if the MacBook Pro won't load Snow Leopard, and is stuck at the spinning wheel?"
Let me know what else you think I should prep for, and thanks in advance!
p.s. On a side note, should I let the stubble grow out for a few days, make myself look a bit more "nerdy"? Or do I go clean-cut, brand new haircut?

The interface has been re-skinned. Before, it used to look like Snow Leopard's.
I wish Apple would revert the green timeline to the old transparent one. I know the green has been here since Lion's first build, but still. It's pretty ugly.

Hey everyone. I'm pretty new at this, so sorry if this is an easy question. I've been searching for a few hours now trying to figure out a few things with the Zorsha Theme. First, there are a few apps images that have been mis-labeled, such as Maps, Photos and the App Store. Does anyone know what these need to be labeled as so the images come up?
Also, once a new app image comes out, what are the steps for assigning image to the app.
Thanks for any and all help, even if this has been asked a lot before.

I can understand people's impatience with Apple for not having a complete AppleWorks replacement already, but if you look at their long term plans for iWork it makes perfect sense. If you start out with a solid foundation it is easier to make improvements so follow my thinking:
"iWork '03"
Keynote 1
iWork '05
Keynote 2 - improvements
Pages 1 - introduced and is a cross between a word processor and a page layout program. Handles the basics of both well but lacks "pro" features
iWork '06
Keynote 3 - improvements
Pages 2 - gets table cell formulas, sorting, number formatting (preparation for spreadsheet app), comments (colaboration), thumbnail view (page finding, ordering, deleting), address book support (mail merge), endnotes, automatic text correction, and general improvements to features already there.
iWork '07
Keynote 4 - improvements
Pages 3 - gets modes which separates word processing tasks/items from page layout tasks/items (reduced clutter), ability to create custom formulas.
Spreadsheet 1 - can import/read Excel data, save as/export to Excel file, basic reporting, there will be a way supply the charts in Keynote and Pages with data, plus whatever Apple adds
iWork '08
Keynote 5 - improvements
Pages 4 - word processing and page layout tasks are improved to the point where they are looking like two separate apps
Spreadsheet 2 - general improvements, reporting feature gets most improvement by being able to "drill" down through pie charts.
iWork '09
Keynote 6 - improvements
Pages 5 - improved to the point where it is only a word processor now.
Page Layout 1 - "New" app that has broken away from Pages and is now the "iApp" of DTPs. This could happen in iWork '08.
Spreadsheet 3 - Gets ODBC support
Database 1 - most likely SQLite, or equivalent, with a sweet front-end. Hopefully, it will be a true RDBMS and not something like what came with AppleWorks.
Reports 1 - (ie Crystal Reports) This is a stretch but if not a separate app then more of an "engine" that is used by the spreadsheet and database apps.
I do not use Keynote which is why I only entered "improvements" next to it.

Try clearing your cache and cookies. Also, check any adblockers you may have running.
I have tried all that, I did the reset Safari, but unchecked the reset top sites box, and disabled ClickToFlash. That is the only extension I have running regularly, the other is Twitter but I don't use it ever and it is always disabled. The first thing I thought was my IP Address was being blocked from the servers because I could access the site on everything via Clear or AT&T on my iPhone, the site just won't work on my home network.

I do tech work locally, full-time at SDSU. If you need some freelance/outsourced stuff, I'd be interested.
Also, there isn't a great forum for job announcements, so I moved it into community.

Yeah you can pay the way you want at the Apple Store, but I'm not sure you are allowed to buy it without signing up for a plan, because they're just $199 WITH the contract. Maybe they'll have a $599 version w/o contract ?
Have you looked at Fido's offer ? I'm seriously planning to switch from Rogers to Fido. They have invoicing by the second vs by the minute at Rogers, and Nights and week-ends start earlier too.

mac2sell.com gives a pretty good baseline but its really only worth but people are will to pay for it. I've been trying to get rid of mine for a week. Hopefully it moves so I can upgrade.

Comex has been updating his twitter, not sure if any of you follow it or not:
@comex: yeah, uh. I can find kernel exploits, but this is ridiculous.
@comex: As noticed by @0naj, my kernel exploit was fixed in 4.3.1.
@comex: I try not to be paranoid, but it is really hard to explain this as anything but a leak.
@comex: The funny thing is that my "new" kernel exploit is actually the kernel exploit used by JailbreakMe 2.0. It was never properly fixed.
@comex: It stayed there from 4.0.2 through 4.3, but was magically found in time for 4.3.1. well, go go @MuscleNerd and @i0n1c I guess
It doesn't seem to be looking very good for 4.3.1

You don't need it you are correct. I'd need to do a comparison to really find out what the difference is. From what I've been able to find out it seems the active DI is best for instruments w/ active pickups like some basses & acoustic guitars. The guys from Radial say their units allow for a wider dynamic range if I understood that right....whereas some cheaper passive units clip off some portions of a hot signal. The J48 is both passive & active (via phantom power). I'm still trying to sort all this out.

Then again, if you can afford said thousands, just buy the bluetooth keyboard separately and keep the wired as a spare!
This. I had my BT module act up once, so if I didn't have the wired one in the closet, I would have been stuck until Best Buy opened the following day to buy a wired one.

See Apple? Do you see this? Offer the damn iPhone unlocked everywhere, including the US. I won't buy any newer iPhone unless it's unlocked.
Oh, I'm sorry, I forgot that de la Vega still holds Steve Jobs' pancreas hostage.
Oh, and cue in the fanboys defending provider locking, an anti-competitive and anti-consumer practice. Again and again, no matter how mind-boggling, it's proven that US consumers, including the geeks, want and demanded locked phones. Truly sad.

Not saying its fake or anything... I have seen alot of people swearing at him, causing so much fued on his youtube and facebook account...
Its so true why would he faking it and using his both social network accounts.
But I didnt understand why doesnt he release just *unstable* version to show those people who doubt about it..... Release it let them see in the face that its real....
Hmm
Both of his social network accounts were created just last week for the sole purpose of showing off his "Jailbreak" but yea there are many many suspicious points to his jailbreak videos, and most of the more trustworthy figures in the jailbreak community has confirmed that this is indeed a fake.

the easiest and quickest way to do this is go get apple tv, plug in and stream your itunes library wirelessly to your tv. it works brilliantly! ;)

Do you know by any chance on how swapping sims work withe official unlock? Do you have to connect to iTunes every time and new sim is inserted or can you just swap sims on the fly?

Thanks. I was hoping to start leaving my laptop at home. A lot of hotels, even good hotels, don't have wi-fi in the rooms, but they do have a wired internet point of presence in every room. If I can't use an iPad under those circumstances, there's just no reason for me to get one.
I don't know if there is a way to directly get wired ethernet connection on to your iPad. I think probably not. But, one pricey solution is this:
Buy an Apple AirPort Express, a very small wifi router about the size of your palm. It will plug into the wired ethernet and broadcast wifi signal.
