Thanks for the review. Did you consider the similar case by Case Crown. It looks a lot like the Candy Convertible, but less expensive.
Yes, I still might give it a shot when it comes out.

Speed I would have to check on, like I said this is not my laptop. I would prefer if needed you to do the work. I have no problem stripping any of the pc's apart to work on them, laptops or desktops that is. But macs I have stayed away from. Get me your contact info, and I will give you a call and we can discuss this. Thanks.

Obviously this isn't wanted here. Perhaps a mod can end it for us?

All those buttons in the side makes it look _a lot_ like an eBook reader.. And in that case - WaaahhHH, I cant afford one!! :(
Those aren't buttons. those are circles showing you where the touch sensitivity is.
I think people are misinterpreting the diagram.
A video iPod with touch-bezel will still look like this:

It works for me. Let me know if this is not what you are talking about.

The AIRs are possibly the most improved machine Apple has e we come out with. Apple went from selling junk to selling a benchmark ultra portable machine.
Sadly I'm not in the market, mostly because I need far more secondary storage. That is certain to be addressed as flash shrinks. However I was actually disappointed that the recent MBP updates didn't take advantage of some of the ideas expressed in the AIR. It looks like Apples Mac Book Pro design team is a little stale.

No, it isn't, and they may have GPS but that's a coincidence and I can tell you flat out that T-Mobile does not use GPS to locate your phone.
The Federally Mandated Requirement is that the mobile operator is able to locate your position. The technology they use is up to them. GSM operators do it via triangulation. E911 is supposed to work regardless of how old the phone is that you're using. Do you think your 1980s Motorola brick AMPS phone has a GPS receiver in it?
The company that provides the triangulation technology is True Position. This is the primary solution used today for locating people using cell phones. However, it is expensive to deploy and the reason providers rather use GPS since it does not require them to update their Cell towers.

Is that right? I've just got a replacement and it's saying a capacity of 12.1GB? I know on previous ones it's said ~14GB?

It looks neat. However, I think I would get tired of having an uncomfortable large chunk of plastic on my wrist all day. Plus having to detach it and unfold the keyboard is too much of a bother. I could also imagine how banged up the screen would get from all the objects the wrist encounter during the day. Also is it water proof? I am rather fond of washing my hands.
In all practicality the iPhone design is the best so far. Slide out keyboards are handy but add too much bulk.
Edit: Actually I should say the Newton Message Pad design is the best so far. I just consider the iPhone a modern Newton with a cellphone added on.

Could it be that Apple is going to release this new video iPod after Zune so it can steal MS's thunder?....
What do you guys think?
Zune never had a thunder to begin with. I am really interested in seeing what
is going to happen if Apple drops the Clickwheel from their upcoming iPod.

Let's hope they are trying to patent multiple ideas. I hate to say it, that looks just plain ugly and complicated. I love the ipod for is it's simpllicity. This looks like a mess. To each his/her own.

when is .Mac update happening anyway?
Umm doesn't that usually happen sometime in the spring? The last two or three have been at least but I doubt they'll be keeping the new mail in a bag too much longer.

As has already been said, you are positioned wrongly relative to your iMac. Have you read page 69 of the User Manual that came with your machine?
didn't get a user manual!
Checked online and found the section you are referring to, set it up as stated so i'll try that for a few days ...thanks

I was at work in the City of London. Actually I remember I had just popped out to buy a birthday card for a friend so I was in a card shop at Leadenhall Market when I first heard the news on the radio. When I got back to the office a few mins later there were people gathered in reception watching the news reports on tv and everyone was so horrified. Later that afternoon we were all sent home as there were fears of potential attacks on London - particularly around the financial centres in the City & Canary Wharf.

Why not just get an 8GB iPod Touch? Is the camera feature an absolute must?

Any suggestions or recommendations?
I use the Windows Home Server provided backup agent (set and forget) to back up my W7 installs to the NAS. Acronis True Image Home 2010 is what I use for imaging and disaster recovery.
If you are on W7, the built in backup and imaging tools are supposed to be pretty decent, for once.

If using the 1880-ix-12 controller will the non-raid 2x SSD drives in Pass Through mode that I want to attach to the Areca controller be bootable? Does the Areca card at all allow for the system to boot off it or will any attached volumes only initialize once in the OS ?
Yes.
Once you flash the card with the EBC firmware, and the desired disk on the card has been selected as the boot location in OS X, it will boot (array, JBOD, or pass through).

So the previous "beta" releases on the Mac were just alphas? Interesting. How long has Opera 8 been in the making? I am surprised that they're already releasing it, but maybe it just feels short.
*downloads Opera 8.00b1*

The first alpha was posted on Jan. 7, so I'm not sure that this is a "short" job or anything. Opera for Mac snapshots (http://snapshot.opera.com/mac/)
First significant bug - can't install skins anymore. However, I can log into VersionTracker now.

Well it depends.
If you already have a keyboard/mouse and a screen you are probably cheaper with the MacMini.
If I hadn't a 26'' LCD HD t.v I would probably go for the iMac.
But it's personal. So don't focus on other comments but determine for yourself what is the best in your environment.
