Oh, no, it's the other way around. I've been offered one for just shy of $1000 and can't seem to find sufficient information to determine how seriously I should pursue it. It sounds like $1000 is within the established bounds (for collectors, anyway), but better deals often occur?

I have two photos that the mall employees took of the Easter Bunny and my son. They used the built-in flash and there is a fence shadow on my son's face. It's just on his face, but UGH!
I have Pixelmator 1.6.5, but never use it for lack of knowledge. I take 99.9% of my family's photos and use external flashes when necessary to avoid the problem I have now.
With that said, I can't find any simple tutorials anywhere. Does anyone have a link to share?

Im look for the best solution for a media centre and network, and I was hoping from some input from you guys.
In our place we have a macbook pro, mac mini, ipad and iphone. The mac mini is plugged in to the television in the living room and the macbook is in the office.
What I ideally want is 2 hard drives, 1 partitioned three ways, macbook time machine, mac mini time machine and the third partition as a media file server, the other hard drive to be a back up of this one. Then all the devices in the house will be able to view/use the media files over wireless from the same file server partition.
Initially I thought about just getting an airport extreme and connecting the hard drives to that.
But then I wasnt sure if the ios devices would be able to read files from the hard drive, as for home sharing to work, they have to go through itunes dont they? Or is it possible to do what I initially thought?
The other option I thought of was to use the mac mini as the hub, plug both hard drives in to that and then the ios devices would be able to read the media files through itunes home sharing.
What do you guys think?
Also, how would I go about continuously cloning the first hard drive to the second?

Yep...and as an aside:
There is no good reason why you shouldn't be doing your TM backups hourly as is native to the program since you have a desktop. With a laptop I can see situations where you don't have a connection to the HDD occasionally.
Your frequency of "every few days" means that TM has to do a larger backup each and every time while the hourly backup will do tiny backups...only what has changed that hour...sometimes nothing if nothing has changed (overnight for example) sometimes a few GB if you rip a DVD perhaps. It runs in the background, so it doesn't impact you at all.
The one time you accidentally delete a file you started working on this morning (and is therefore is not in your 'every few days' backup) is the time when you will be so happy you went back to TM's default settings. :)

Just curious, I wouldn't think it would be but is the iPad 2 any cheaper at the University of Utah campus store?
No. The same price as anywhere else. They did however have every single model in stock, and no you don't have to be a student.

I notice that the fingers in the diagram look small. A little research shows the average male index finger dip joint (last joint at the finger) is about 1cm long. Doing some quick calculations, assuming ANYTHING in the diagram is to scale, the device seems to be about 7" tall. The current Ipod is 4.1" tall. Also, the diagram shows the ability to add to playlist, which leads me to believe it is more than an ipod... perhaps I am completely wrong, of course

Could you drop a URL ?
Here's (http://www.artists-first.net/) one if you're interested in selling music yourself. Mostly indie acts on there, linking from their own web pages. 320kbps MP3 is common.

Thank you for this great site. I'm new here and have a question about VPN.
If I enable VPN to get the cablevision app working will the ipad always use VPN for all data? Meaning will anything I do on the ipad be transferred through my home computer and network?

Oh I completely agree. You put a 2G and a 3G side by side and you can barely tell them apart.
:|
Sarcasm aside, if you look at them internally, the iPhone 1 and iPhone 2 (3G) are almost identical. Even Apple acknowledged this by calling the iPhone 3G the iPhone 1,2 internally. The first iPhone to get a iPhone 2,1 designation was the iPhone 3GS, indicating it was a new design. If the iPhone 3G was a 'complete redesign' as you said, Apple would have named it with a new internal code to reflect this; however it did not.
Seriously - people think that an exterior update is more significant that the internals...? The 3GS was serious update over the 3G - faster processor, better camera with video, better BT, faster 3G, better screen, higher capacity, etc.
The 2G > 3G update was the lamest of the bunch so far (especially since a lot of people agree the metal case was a better decision than the plastic)
Exactly. Why cannot every see this? The iPhone 3GS was a massive jump internally over the iPhone 1 / iPhone 2 (3G). The 3G was one of the lamest of the iPhone updates to date.

I didn't lose any. You can force iTunes to get brand new album art for your entire collection. See this (http://theubergeeks.net/2006/09/13/new-album-art/)
Yes, I did know that (but thanks anyway). In fact, I believe it is this particular feature that led to the mysterious disappearance (I think, at least) of album art. From your link:
WARNING: This process will take iTunes quite a while to perform. So do not do it if you dont have time to let it sit and do its thing. Also, do not do this if you have one-of-a-kind album art or you have scanned in album art, or even if you have albums in your collection from local bands that youve spent 8 weeks trying to find album art for them. They will not be found by iTunes get album art feature.
iTunes asked me if I wanted it to search for album art and I stupidly clicked 'yes' thinking it would get the ones I didn't have or fix some of the errors. Oh, well. Cool feature, nonetheless. Also, the "Cover Flow" feature, while cool as well, is quite taxing on my 1 Ghz G4. Something tells me it would be a little smoother on an 8-core Mac Pro. :D

To answer your question, no.
I think the blk requires another port on the mobo or something to give it power.
Also- the space under the keyboard is pretty tight as it is so good luck getting the optic fiber to run to each key.
Besides there would be no way to control it. The power button on the Air is where the eject button is on other Macs, the eject button is on F12 and thus F5/F6 to control the backlighting would not work.

As expected. I didn't expect anything major considering the drastic change from the 3GS to the 4.

Wow, a website that gets millions of hits had a small glitch. How dare they. The bastards.
Sorry, but you are quite mistaken. It is clearly a conspiracy!

The update will be in software update when it starts shipping. Otherwise people will just torrent it so fast. It makes no sense to not send out an update.

They won't ever say. It seems like you may have to line up tonight and stay the night.

I just got the 2nd drive. Same problem.
Create a new user account and see if the drive does the same thing on that account, if it does then it looks like a hardware fault with your machine, if it doesn't then it looks like an OS issue...

Microsoft could have so easily saved face had they just sold the Zune brand, manufacturing rights, etc. to some second-tier company, even if just for a token amount of a dollar.
They did - to the Cell Phone Companies and their called, "Windows Mobile Phones"...

What is your budget and what and where exactly do you want to use the camera for?
And a camera with using flash memory like SD cards is better suited if you move around a lot.
But know, that when transferring the videos from the camera to iMovie, the video gets transcoded, meaning it will be converted to use a proper video editing codec, thus it will take quite some time depending on the CPU speed of your Mac.
