or is it just that at its "default" values out of the box, it gives a hyped picture?
Exactly. The HP LP3065 out of the box is very bright, vibrant and not realistic to SWOP printing. But it is beautiful to look at in this state.
It calibrates down to SWOP really well.
Check this out:
http://www.anandtech.com/displays/showdoc.aspx?i=2950
Visit their report on the calibration of the monitor and see how well it does.
It's sad to see all those amazing colors disappear. But we keep a couple of profiles around -- One for Print, One for general daily use, One for web design to SRGB.
Great Great Monitor. Can't say enough good about it.
I like it better than our Dell 30 HC.

The writing was on the wall for VPC the moment Apple announced the move to Intel; the only question is why it took so long. (But since when does anything at Microsoft happen quickly?)
Nah, the writing was on the wall the moment Microsoft bought Virtual PC.

Any ideas how to get this rate up?
(5 other 2.4GHZ networks neighbours.)
i, too live in an area with lots of other networks around, causing wireless interference (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1365?viewlocale=en_US) for my network.
my solution (and recommendation to you) was to hardwire my TVs to my TC using powerline adapters (http://www.powerlineethernetadapter.com/netgear-powerline-adapter).
in fact, i have all my gear hardwired except my mobile devices.
edit: more on how to evaluate the relationship between signal and noise numbers here (http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=10329543&start=1).

Let's face it, Microsoft can't compete. ... I said it before on these posts and got laughed to scorn, Microsoft is dead.
Really? Who laughed? I wouldn't have. I've been predicting the slow collapse from internal rot ever since Word started .rtf format.
But you're right -- the process of moving from arbitrary, proprietary formats to generally accepted standards will be painful sometimes, but it will happen.

Here's all you need to know Mcrain... a hardened weathered old-time farmer works his entire life, pours his blood sweat and tears into paying off his family farm, paying income tax on every cent he earned and property taxes on every square foot of land every single year... yet when he passes away and per his request, his farm passes to his only son, the government decides that they didn't bleed enough out of him. Before his son can have the farm, he must first sell off half of it to the highest bidder in order to pay off the tax man ONE MORE TIME.
It's a tax on accumulated (and previously taxed) income... period.
It's a new tax on the new transfer of the accumulated (and previously taxed) income. Big difference. (edit) Oh, and I already know plenty about the subject. Good try though.
(edit 2)
Fundamental misunderstanding... drives me crazy.
First, the estate tax is not a new tax, but an alternative to what would happen without the estate tax. What? Huh? Confusing? Ok, if you eliminated the estate tax, then there would be no tax at the estate level, but there would also be NO amount of the transfer exempt from taxation, and every heir would be required to include every penny they receive and declare it as ordinary income and pay a tax on that at whatever tax rate they are at. On the other hand, the estate tax simplifies the filing, provides a five million dollar exemption, and doesn't require heirs to mess with the paperwork.
Here's a wiki article you might like. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Estate_tax_in_the_United_States

Or am I missing it somewhere?
EDIT: Nope.... found it. I noticed the EQ went walk abouts too. Found it under the same menu

it doesn't seem like he's going to release his old 4.3 exploit, although I could be wrong. He was waiting for chpwn to provide an iPad 2 bottom dump but I don't know whats going on with that.
What's the reasoning that he won't release the 4.3 exploit? That's disappointing. A lot of people are still on 4.3 on the iPad 2.

If you've see the keynote stream, then you'll of come across the part where Steve asked some of his employees (marketing, engineer etc..) to stand up and receive a round of applause.
I thought this was quite a nice gesture and it's the first time I have seen this from them.
Good things!! :claps:
I think he does that in just about every keynote. Still a nice thing to do though :)

Let's hope AT&T improves their service to match Verizon by the time iphone 5 is released.
Dropped iPhone Calls Really Are an AT&T Thing (http://www.fool.com/investing/general/2011/04/17/dropped-iphone-calls-really-are-an-att-thing.aspx)
Sprint will likely get the iphone 5. I wonder how good their service is?

Yep. I agree. And if you've used Android lately on a phone, you'd say iPhone what?!?! Apple still has the more solid tablet but Android OS will have that market by summertime as well.
Don't bother flaming, it's well documented in the sales figures that Android has taken the #1 spot in the Phone OS model... my only point is Apple is at a critical turning point in their history. They can give customers what they want, or restrict. Customers don't like to be restricted, and like me, seek alternatives when cornered.
Could be wrong but apple have the iPhone, iPod, iPad vs android os which is in basically every new manufacture phone, motorola, htc, samsung, lg, etc... each having at least 5 phones with the os....only thing those number proves is that there's a Lot of android os out there............and most people use them because of the price...doesnt tmobile have some free android phones they give out when you sign up with a new contract....? In conclusion everybody and their mothers put android os in their newly made phones/tablet vs apples few iOS line.....

It depends. Did you use referenced masters or managed?
Old, yet still pretty relevant, articles on the subject ->
http://aperture.maccreate.com/2009/08/31/introduction-to-referenced-vs-managed-in-aperture/
http://aperture.maccreate.com/2010/01/12/tip-0-referenced-vs-managed-files/
I read both the files, i understand. But how can i see how my pictures where imported? I already had folders with pictures that i just dragged into the library. I cant recal seeing anything like referenced or managed masters?
thanks :)
(edit) in the import settings it is set as ''Store files: in the aperture library''
