I've only had one dropped call with my iPhone 4
I've got 2 ip4's, one for me and one for my wife. They drop calls quite frequently, I wouldn't say a huge amount more than our old 3GS', but definitely noticeable more drops. It's funny how people who have no problems say that no one has any problems, but they do. I can noticeably drop my signal bars by just pressing my thumb on the antenna seam, and if I'm in a low signal area I can usually make the phone drop a call by putting my hand on that seam.
Now I still own my ip4, I like it, don't love it, but like it for what it does enough for me to keep it. I'm not complaining, but there is a need to temper both the "there is no problem" AND the "sky is falling" camps. Invariably, as with most other stuff in life, the truth lies somewhere in the middle, and there are some problems with the iphone4 but they aren't deal breakers. I think this is the vast majority of users who follow along on these forums and are amused by the vitriolic camps on both sides who fight to the bitter end to prove their point, I know I'm certainly amused at how much energy some put in to prove their point.

This would be a killer product if also booting Mac OS X mobile (to be released):
1. Make Keynote or PowerPoint presentations on Mac or PC.
2. Transfer to wireless iPod.
3. Carry only the iPod with you and use it as a wireless remote control to give a wireless presentation.
No cables or computers involved. Wow! It will sell millions in the corporate, education and domestic markets. Imagine the tremendous halo efect! Apple will double or triple market share of Mac as well!

Honestly, people are so worried about the principle of the matter (I shouldn't have to use a case! I shouldn't have to change how I hold it!) that they've completely missed whether it actually really makes for a worse experience. For me, it absolutely does not.
I also still don't get how CR can give it the highest overall rating and not recommend it.

Im no snob against AMD GPUS...but their CPU's are nearly 2 generations behind intel. I dont think Bulldozer is going to match the 1155 SB, much less the upcoming 2011 socket chips.
What I want to see is a 27inch iMac with an HD 6970 2GB...Whoa whoa wee wow:eek:

My first instinct was that Apple stuck with Yonah in the Mini because of something they're about to introduce next week. The "streaming video" device could very well fill the set-top box niche that the Mini does, only at a lower price for the same remote media functions.
I was wondering which way it would go--I guess it's still up in the air. Basically I just see this as a $200 price drop, which is always welcome.

On a personal and professional level, yes. However, if it is there, I should be able to make an app detailing how to escape they hatred and hypocrisy of mainstream religion. I mean seriously, if I made an app detailing the opressions, explotations, misogyny, abuses and general hatred of organized religion and how to live your life without it, it would never get approved. This is also interesting considering Apple is one of the more gay friendly companies around.

I will be updating to the 220GB just for video output..would be nice if they would add high definition output.
I love the people that act like 220GB is a ridiculous amount, with the file sizes always increasing (FYI, the estimate of 40,000 songs with the current 160GB is a miscalculation, how many things are still selling 128kbps songs and how many people are still using that bit rate?) an increase in capacity is ALWAYS welcome.
Further, add videos to the classic and 220GB would be considered small.

I didn't realize this was an Apple ad until the very end. Granted, I wasn't on the edge of my seat paying close attention. I was too worried about my Wildcats losing in the final 4. About halfway through the ad I noticed that the little tablet thingy was actually an iPad, and that got me wondering what the commercial was for. Didn't seem at all like an Apple commercial of late, which is a good thing because I think they were getting pretty cliche.

Ummm - the reason probably is shown on the 1400 post "light bleed" thread. People WANT the thing bad so they don't "return" it... they get it "swapped". Quite a few people over there are on their 4th to 5th swap
(which boggles my mind frankly) in a search to get one with no bleed.
They all seem to have it to varying degrees but I have to hand it to Apple for (so far) not claiming this is "in spec" to shut down all these
"swaps".
Apple probably lists all these as "exchanges" and therefore they don't count as "returns". Makes the customer happy and makes them look good in the press. Everybody wins.
Towards the end of the huge thread over at Apple.com people are being told the same thing from the reps when they call... that Apple "is looking into the qc issue on this batch of iPads and hopes to resolve the issue". That's good news for everybody.
...but all the Apple apologists...so quick to jump to Apple's defense...say that there is no such problem. :D

I just find it interesting that you seem to be ignoring the fact that 1 year ago you were willing to pay an approximately $100 markup for SWOP certification, yet you find it completely reasonable for Apple to essentially be charging $300 for it today? I'm about the biggest fan of Apple of anyone but their prices are out of touch on their 20" displays.

I just don't see people wanting to have their arms up like that to use a desktop computer. It works so well on the iPad cause you can use it where your hands are already sitting (in your lap). But this...doesn't strike as being very practical at all.

i too have no problems with gear sticks on both sides of the road , i actually prefer to have the gear stick on my left side , despite i learned to drive with that gear stick to my right as i lived then in Germany and all cars i had had been fitted that way ..until i crossed the channel and bought a car in the UK
but the future is automatic as in 10 years only people with a income of over �100000pa will be able to afford to run a fossil fuel powered car (prediction for europe with in latest years 30pence/cent annually increase in mind i guess liter price of �5 in 2020 )anyway and electro engines need no gear sticks at all
