This makes me sad. The palm pre part. It was a great phone, but unfortunately its hardware was terrible. It may have been to palm what the iPod was to Apple if only they hadn't slacked in that area. Quite a shame...
I was a Treo 650 user when the 1st iPhone was released. Tried some other smart phones at the time before getting my 1st iPhone. Never looked back, and held out to upgrade my 1st iPhone to the iPhone 4.
Have played with friends Droid phones, and it left me wanting for my iPhone's.

Where? I just checked the Top 200 Best Selling iTunes Songs & there's only ONE .69c song all the way at #196.
In fact, there's only 3 .99c songs, two of which are in the bottom 25.
I realize that this was the labels doing & not Apple, but that's crazy.
I've seen numerous $0.69 songs. If you're always looking at brand new stuff you may not see them.

A couple of other interesting points (at least to me). Maybe it is meaningless, but kind of makes one wonder: What is the "Apple Movie" on the Bandwidth Test page? (Picture 4)

The iPhone 4 had just the right thickness. Tapering everything to a weak point is bad engineering.

C'mon Apple... don't let us down here.
I agree with the other posters here that Apple needs to take this seriously and kick it into high gear. Send a message to the world (or at least your user-base) that you're on top of the situation.
I for one, feel that Apple will come through, and am glad becuase I think there will always be a huge "community effort" put into making our choice of platforms better in terms of security

Did ye all not read the report. The whole point is that it is a "Proximity sensor" . That it can detect your gestures while "spaced away" from the ipod. This would be no big deal if it required rubbing your greasy fingers all over the display!! Yes and it states "a touch screen display" "For multifunctional handheld devices".
"The method includes sensing an object spaced away and in close proximity to the electronic device. The method also includes performing an action in the electronic device when an object is sensed." Meaning when I'm close to touching the darn thing do/show this when this is happening on screen.

Afterall Apple does not want you to use Windows, it only wants you to believe you could run Windows if you had to, in order to ease switcher anxiety.
Actually they want to sell you the hardware, right? Apple calls itself a hardware company that makes a bit of software on the side, rather than software company that makes hardware to sell with it, doesn't it?

I'm looking forward to it, although I'm hoping the LED IPS display issues are resolved, I don't want to have to deal with yellow tint or dead pixels..
It'd be great if Apple had the same no dead pixel policy as Dell..

I can believe they will make a small gesture button but i dont think the phone will look like that, its hideous.
My guess is they are going to do minor change, basically make a 4s. Will be faster slightly larger screen, thays about it. To me, they have pretty much created the perfect phone already
