Very nice!
however...
I dont think It would have iMovie, as its just not practical to make a movie on something that small..
Also The screen resolution is VERY high!
when i use a screen width of 1024 on my 17 inch then try to get the same rez on something about 4 to 5 inches! Everything would be VERY SMALL!!!!
But i think if apple could make an affordable one of these, There would be a TON of people switching over to a mac!!!!

Thanks for the reply John,
Do I need a specific headphone jack for my mac? I just bought a generic one from an electrical store.
My TV is LG and is relatively new if that makes any difference

Wow, somebody knows Pete Rocks "TROY" on this forum?
Im in shock lol.
Very disappointed that Apple took Kanye off the webcast though. It was THEM who invited him to perform, and they must have known that most of his songs have some swear words in them. I think the Kanye tie up was just right though - I thought Apple was a company that liked to be bold? The old rock/pop star **** (U2, Madonna etc) is tired and bland. Kanye is now. He is far from my favourite Hiphop artist, but dude is doing what Hiphop used to do - put blacks on the political map. As much as people may shun that idea, he HAS got people talking about what is a very real issue to those in the black community - that the Government doesnt give a **** about them. If action is taken on it at any level, then Kanyes purpose was justified.

Good photos, but as usual they need a 30" screen to be able to see the other half of the images...
Looks like a fun time was had by all, one year I'll have to attend one of these meet-ups.

Yes. You can find out before you visit Target.. Try to look over at the target section on this forum. Someone posted a solid inventory checker so ybou better check that first before you go there.
One more thing, you have to actually ask the employee to check at their back, they dont seem to know anything about iPad 2 shipments.
Best of luck guys.

Kool Aid Man! Looks like this thread is FUBAR already. W/E.
sorry, that was the first thing that crossed my mind :eek:. I do remember the Kool Aid Guy though. Anyway, I do have a mini. But I'm waiting for some things to get moved around in my room since it current home is on my dresser along with its non-connected peripherals, including a new 22-inch dell monitor that was hooked up for a day :(

Thank you for this great site. I'm new here and have a question about VPN.
If I enable VPN to get the cablevision app working will the ipad always use VPN for all data? Meaning will anything I do on the ipad be transferred through my home computer and network?
On the iPad you can enable and disable the VPN connection. It is not always on. If you setup EasyVPN leaving the Network Routing Definition section blank, all traffic will be routed through the VPN connection. If you add routing definitions, only IP traffic in the IP range you enter will route through VPN. Other data (email, web, ect.) will route through the local iPad internet connection.

Nope. You'll have to use a server-side scripting language to add a class to the link for the current page, or manually add it to the appropriate link in the HTML on each page.
a:active doesn't do what you think it does. It only comes into play as the link is clicked.
a {
text-decoration:none;
color:#000000;
}
a:hover, a.current { // <- This will give your :hover pseudo class
color:#FFF; // and .current class the same appearance
background-color:#21B9FF;
}
<a class="current" href="thispage.html">Current Page</a>
<a href="otherpage.html">Another Page</a>

Apple doesn't give a damn about the shareholders any more than they do about the customers, sorry.
What makes you say this? I'm curious about your take on Apple's motives.
Personally, I think that Apple goes above and beyond to please the shareholder. They may do it in a different way than other Fortune 500 companies (i.e. vertical integration, small portfolio of products, compete in focused markets), but you can't argue the results. Apple has been rewarding the shareholders for close to a decade now, with very few hiccups.

When I go to that site (using Safari), I get the message:
*** Currently the A9 Toolbar runs only on Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.5 or above. We are working to extend the toolbar to other browsers. ***
When visiting using Firefox, I get a completely different page. They should change the message on the first page to mention Firefox too. Otherwise, if it weren't for this post on MacBytes, I would have no idea that it's compatible with Firefox.
Edit: They've fixed it now.

Yeah, give them a call. They are nice and reasonable... most of the time. Give them a story on how broke you are and that you need this very badly. lol

Here's something I find odd. When you click the Post Reply button at the bottom of a thread display and type the text of a new post, you have buttons labeled Submit Reply and Preview Post. If you click Preview Post, you see the preview, followed by a Submit Message button, then the text box, then the same Submit Reply and Preview Post buttons. The Submit Message and Submit Reply buttons do the same thing.
So we have three nouns for the same thing: Reply, Post, and Message!
I think the nouns should be the same, i.e., instead of
Submit Message and Submit Reply and Preview Post
the three buttons should be
Submit Reply and Submit Reply and Preview Reply
OR
Submit Post and Submit Post and Preview Post
OR
Submit Message and Submit Message and Preview Message
Of these three choices, I prefer
Submit Reply and Submit Reply and Preview Reply
because you clicked Post Reply to start the process.

I know someone who has an original iPhone 2G 8GB still sealed and may be willing to sell it. How do I tell if it's a refurb? Or if it's an early or late production model? The box shows all the old original icons and does not show the App Store or iTunes Store on it as an app.
I am thinking about buying it to collect (and leave it sealed) but I want to make sure it's something worth having.
By looking at the serial number on the back of the box, how do I tell if it's a refurb? What country was it sold in? When was it made? What information can I get from it?
No, I do not have the serial number at this time.
a dead giveaway for a refurb is 5K. I'm not too sure after that but that should help a little.
edit- if the serial on the phone matches the box, its the original.

So with Dev Preview 2 update 1 I am having collabd constantly crashing which makes crashreporter launch and take up a good portion of CPU. It is stuck in a loop and keeps trying to reopen. Is there any way to remove the server portion of Lion entirely(as I can't keep collabd from trying to start)?
I don't think it is possible without a reinstall. Why don't you just stop any service you don't need?

Seriously, all you folks who are saying this and that about the bezel control (i.e. Every time I touch it I'll adjust the volume, or change my ringtone... blah, blah...), do you really think Apple would release it's "next big thing" without making sure it worked perfectly, intuitively, and didn't just go completely haywire every time you touch it or bump it?
For crying out loud, the company's future depends in no small part on the iPod, I'm fairly certain Apple's going to make sure each successive iPod is as innovative and market-dominating as the rest of the line has been. THat includes ease-of-use.
Have a little faith, here. You see one patent filing and freak out. Sheesh.
I agree with you.
Whatever Apple's introduce will be clever and easy to use. Remember that's their core philosophy, That's why I am not worrying too much.
I am skeptical of this patent. I believe Apple did patent the above, but they do that all the time to protect their ideas. That doesn't mean it's going to be the final product like that.
The only thing I can certain say is that the video iPod will be here soon. I hope before xmas. If not then at MWSF.

That is very sad.
I would not be surprised if that show was the most syndicated around the world.I also have to wonder if it did help shape American culture at the time, even if it was just a little bit.
I also wonder how many black leather jackets it helped sell :D

But this (http://www.ft.com/cms/s/8fb970f6-556d-11db-acba-0000779e2340.html) is the speech, and it contains ONE mention of Apple. I mean, the way the news reports were worded, you'd think that he was saying rather more than mentioning it in passing.
All he says is that Leopard has a pretty good email client (he's talking about the richness of email in the future, and is obviously impressed with what Steve Jobs has thus-far demonstrated.)
He also mentions Geico Insurance, FedEx, and Marriot hotels. And YouTube, and MySpace. And Verizon.
This is a non-story.
For those too lazy to click the link, here's what he has to say:
Third, the high bandwidth potential of 3G will be utilized to take consumer-based PC functionality mobile. The Web N Walk services we see in Europe today is a precursor of the even larger opportunity in the U.S. market given broadband penetration and usage which has exploded over the past 24 months. A further example of untapped opportunity is mobile consumer e-mail. Today, only 5% of current consumer e-mail is being accessed in a mobile environment. And as can be seen with Apples new Leopard operating system the richness of e-mail communications is just beginning to discover elements beyond the printed word moving to dynamic and personally tailored image-rich communications.
That's it. That's the only mention of Apple. That single sentence in one paragraph.
WHY is this on Page 1?

My question is, is it a worthwhile upgrade? or is it just better to leave it with the 2.4ghz and get a better hard drive.
Great question. Unfortunately you don't provide any information that would help us advise you. Since you're asking the question, it probably makes no difference at all.
