I suggest that you install tinyumbrella, and run it. It will back up your SHSH blobs and show you what options you actually have....

Uncheck all syncing except for the Optimum app?
Seems easy enough.
Hope to try it soon
Thanks

If I may, I'll add my question in here.
I've just had an awful time trying to put on the Cygnett OpticClear screen protector.
I cleaned everything down got started and somehow managed to attract some specks of dust. I did the tape thing, but ended up making more of a mess of things, and adding more specks to the screen :( - I had a similar nightmare putting the screen protector on my original iPad, but it worked out okay in the end.
I've ended up trying several times, but just can't get it to apply without problems, so I finally tried to clean the back with water. This seemed to get the little specks, so I tried to do an install while it was still wettish and just can't seem to get that right either. I think I may have screwed it up altogether, and will just go without the protector this time, (even though it cost me for this one.)
Any tricks? or is it just a case of too much dust floating around? (I promise the room isn't covered in dust, btw!)
thanks

What I find interesting is how Arn comes so much later, considering he basically started the site.
I think his handle is relatively new, though he has been present from the Beginning (capitalization for special effect).

Hi john,
Just drag and drop your ppt file on the Keynote2 app icon (in your Dock if you have it there) and it will open in Keynote.

One thread where I shall read every post.
It's interesting to note how it affected so many people beyond the victims and their families... much of that footage I saw on TV that day I have never seen again, particularly that huge dust cloud enveloping everything.

I think im the only person who thinks that a peice of equipment the size of a deck of cards that holds over 15k songs is NOT too big??? I have a 40G pod and I wouldn't want it any smaller...If I needed a pod with more storage I would buy a 60G in a heart beat

just use Parallels or VMWare
Or DOSBox! I tried running a game under VPC 5 on a 400 MHz PowerMac G4. Too slow. So I then tried running it on a VPC 7 on a 1.25 GHz eMac. Still too slow. Then I tried running the game under DOSBox on the eMac. Ahhh, just right! Given that many of the games I still play are from the 80's or early half of the 90s, this works well for me, whether on x86 or PPC.
Another MS app which is being moved over as Universal app is RDC, which is probably my favorite MS application. I use this daily to work between my Mac and PC at work, and it works great, especially since I can use my second monitor for the PC, and still share both monitors for my Mac. A great VNC program for connecting to Windows. Too bad it can't connect to a Mac, also (I use Chicken of the VNC for that).

Technically AM3 CPUs will work in AM2+ boards. Problem is that DDR2 is a dead end at this point. DDR3 is so cheap nowadays I see no reason in not buying it and enabling yourself to use newer CPUs and chipsets.
As far retail stores - vast majority of people working at those stores don't have a clue. Also, not to sound sexist but why would you ask women to begin with? Yes, I've seen women that know about this stuff but they are rare and far between. Of course not to say that I can't imagine hearing such nonsense from a male employee.

I'd like it to be but it's running at a normal RPM so there's not much I can do about it. My sister has a 2010 mini and I noticed it's much quieter than mine, nearly silent.

Our goal was to design the very very best MP3 player we could. To design something that could become an icon an and we'll see whether that is the case or not. - Jonathan Ive

Watching the iPod video almost brings tears to my eyes. Great job. Thanks for the links everyone.

Now how do I get my jailbroken iPhone 4 on 4.2.1 to this baseband...? (06.15.00)
You should have never been directed to that page, it doesn't apply to you. You have an iphone 4 not a 3g or 3gs so you can't use ipad baseband. Ironically iclarified has very poor clarity in that article where it concerns the iphone 4.
You aren't unlocking that baseband period, no there's nothing you can do but wait and maybe some day (who knows when) in the future you can.

OMG! That would be awesome - a phone that's a GPS Navigation that you could load where you're going in the phone with relevant picture pointers 'you are now passing MacDonalds on your right handside' and picture flashes up on your phone of the location taken by another user of Googlemaps... while you're driving in the car...
That's way more than I thought the iPhone would be... if it is the iPhone.
If it is then Apple will have pulled another 'miracle of modern technologies' off!
I think this is good thing!

If I were an MS shareholder, I would be OUTRAGED.
How much did they pay for that? To be fair, I don't recall if MS bought just VPC or all of Connectix, but it hardly matters!
That's got to be a giant pile of shareholder wealth pissed away in a half-assed attempt at being part of (read: smothering) the increasing popularity and utility of Apple.
I would really love to see the numbers on that boondogle.
The connectix deal wasn't a 'boondogle' at all - connectix had other products than VPC. MS Virtual Server is based on the code they got from connectix. The server virtualization market is absolutely huge compared to VPC's potential market. I'm sure to Microsoft, VPC was a drop in the bucket in terms of revenue, and if I were a shareholder, I'd be happy as hell that they dropped it.

That's true. But which spreadsheet user is aware of this? This should be resolved by the app, not by the user.
You are totally right. And by the way, every user should be aware that computers don't know much about numbers. ;) Computers are limited, they have a limit on the integers they can handle. So, only with integers they miss an infinite quantity of numbers. Then when you start looking at rational and irrational numbers, you realize that computers knows pretty much nothing. The actual probability to pick up any real number (rational or irrational) who exists and to have it known by the computer is 0. In other words, it's a little bit like the computer knows about the trees of one garden when you have on earth so much more trees in all the forrests. Still, computers are great tools, and help us calculate things which would take hundred of years without them. :D

I can find everything except the advanced search function. Can you find that on your old 5G iPod? I can't for the life of me.
(Otherwise, I see all the functions -- games work, the quick scrolling where the big letter is displayed works, haven't tried gapless playback though but I'm assuming that works.)
I can't find the advanced search functions either. just tried toging into settings and nothing was there.
if anyone can give us some info on this, it would be great.
almost done downloading a movie, will report quality on original 5G once it's transferred.
