Probably never.
The most likely scenario would be reunification between the UTMS/GSM and CDMA software in iOS 4.4 or definitely iOS 5.
It appears that Apple forked the 4.2 code for the CDMA iPhone and there's no clean way to reincorporate those changes into the 4.3 branch.
Battery life in 4.3.x sucks. Verizon users should be glad to be on 4.2.x!

The day that I have to go out and buy virus protection for OS X is the day I consider going back to Windows.
Switching to Windows because you have to use antivirus software on your Mac would just be like jumping out of the frying pan and into the fire.
During the 15 years or so that Macs were around before the advent of OS X, most Mac users had antivirus software running on their computers. It was necessary, it was no big deal, and it was certainly no reason to start using a Windows box.

Apple definitely needs to get more serious about security. As more people start to buy Macs, more people will start to tinker and find holes. I hope Apple will rise to the challenge.
My feelings exactly. Its bad enough that the vulnerabilities are "easy" to discover and puncture, but as the marketshare goes up, there is no doubt that we are going to get exploited more and more, and I really don't want our OS caught with its pants down by its ankles like Windows.
Apple has a couple of advantages by being Unix based, but because its a hybrid kernel, like LMH said, they also get some inevitable vulnerabilities. They gotta get a bit more serious about auditing their code. For all of the problems MS has had, I will say this. At least they have already had them, and by now have gotten such an auditing system in place that "dummy" vulnerabilities don't get through in releases as easily.

I get you... it's not just about games!
...except all your examples ARE games!
Like millions of other Mac owners, I don't play any games on my Mac and haven't for years. With iOS devices and consoles being so much cheaper, it just doesn't make any sense to me to pimp-up my Mac for gaming.
Dont let my lack of knowledge be the "hole" of the argument, considering that you might know more than me, we all know GPU tasks are not only gaming, but also many other applications involve this. Again, because of my lack of knowledge this might not be 100% backed up, but I can guess that games will not be the sole purpose of a GPU.
I bet that Mac gamers are a majority rather than a minority.

From email:
Please note that the iTunes Store Terms of Sale state that all sales are final, so this is a one-time exception.
The best way to avoid unintentional purchases is to use the Shopping Cart. That way, you can consolidate and review your selections carefully and buy them when you're ready. Here's how to use the Shopping Cart:
http://www.info.apple.com/kbnum/n93017
Did they really tell you to use the Shopping Cart feature in iTunes? Because since iTunes 9 this feature is gone now! The documentation you/Apple quoted is depricated unless your still using a pre iTunes 9 version.

I'm glad you get to decide what facts are facts. I guess someone has to do it.
It's true he's big. A big figurehead.
It is not me who decided ... Osama was a Terrorist long before 911 ... you do not seem to know of his involvement ... you should read up on his life of Terrorism.

I think if there were no guns besides the law enforcements then America would be a much safer place.
you could not be more wrong.....
if you take guns away from the legitimate and responsible owners, then what does that help? did you really make a difference? no....
and all the criminals will still have there guns.
and all the sudden they have just as much power as the law enforcement, and now they don't have to be afraid that I might have my gun when they rob me. because we don't have our guns....

Fired up my copy of Knoppix 5 (don't ask). This thing is FAST. Makes Parallels look so slow, doesn't eat up as much memory. Issues so far is the 2-finger scrolling is off a little bit, and the trackpad right clicking is off a little bit. These are only preliminary results, I'll go more indepth later on. So take these results with a grain of salt, for now.
Loaded up 2 Folding@Home clients up to really burn this baby in.
From the screenshots alone, it looks like a Cocoa app, which pretty much guarantees it'll be faster because it won't have the extra Qt bloated code in it ;)

Well Apple has used up all the "big cat" names like Tiger and Lion which means that either OS 11 is underway or they will be in the embarassing situation of having to use lesser cat names which imply "less".
Ocelot, Cheetah, Cougar, Fluffy, etc......
I for one am ready for OS 11.0 "Merlot"
I was REALLY hoping for OSX Couger, lol.
But seriously.... to quote Paul Giamatti...."I am not drinking any ****ING merlot!"

Apple has it all down to a science. They probably have algorithm's for getting the most possible money out of you.....if you don't see this your blind...Wait for something that actually makes a difference...not just a different color. As if they ever intended to release the white iphone at the same time as the black one hahahaha

yes I agree the hands in both those pictures look extremely similar.
I am going to have to side with Samsung on this; apple stole their hand.
As far as the phones go? the looks are similar but still different looking.
Mmmm this sort of comments make me believe people do not really understand how production of something like a phone works. Do you guys think Apple started drawing the general outlook and tech aspects of the iPhone just AFTER seeing Samsung's P.o.s.? It doesn't take 1 month to come up with a project like iphone. I think Apple had this thing going on probably years before Samsung even started thinking about a touch phone! Point is, Apple makes the standard and everyone wants to copy it. There's leaders and followers. Apple is a leader. Period.

No, but Bash is. I meant the GNU/Berkeley as a hybrid BSD userland with GNU parts thrown in. I know the difference quite clearly thank you.
Bash is under the GPL license - not GNU. Never has been GNU see source link -> http://www.opensource.apple.com/release/mac-os-x-106/
BTW - No part of MacOSX is distributed under GNU licensing...

It really doesn't make sense to me that Apple is changing the time frame of when the iPhone 5 will be released!
If anything they might release the product in September but they HAVE to announce it at WWDC just for a simple little reason: THE IPHONE IS APPLE'S BIGGEST SELLING PRODUCT AND WWDC IS APPLE'S LARGEST EVENT!
How would they not announce it then?

Anyone arguing against this is an idiot.
First people complain about not having choices or prices being too high. Now there are more options and pricing is lower.
Wow. Just wow.
Well those addicted to Apple can still pay more for their songs. Enjoy. I won't stop you. Just like those that want to pay more for ebooks.
Personally - I'll shop it around and pay the best price whoever is selling it.
