I'm freakin sick of the ITMS.
I love iTunes and my iPod, but purchasing music that can only be put on an iPod is crap. There may be a better player out later which I want to go to and then *poof* my ITMS purchased tracks are crap.
www.allofmp3.com
It's (significantly) cheaper.
It's better.
'Nuff said.
Its also illegal in our country.
You've definitely said enough.

I didn't say I supported AllofMP3's way to do their shady business, I meant that legal downloading should be modelled like AllofMP3 AND that the artists should get paid.
If only we live in the perfect world, every business is out there for it's own interest - Jon, Record Company and AllofMP3 included. time to wake up and smell the coffee guys!

I'm running Lion DP2 off my WD external USB2 1TB drive.
I just created a new Mac OS X Journaled partition of 150mb and chose it from the "Show More Disks" option on the Lion installer.

well what do you think?
The game is great looking visually, but I personally don't care for flight games. The last game based around planes that I enjoyed was U.N. Squadron on the SNES. That game was awesome.

Gapless playback on my 60GB 5G now works. Thank you apple. Finally.
... unfortunately Apple decided to not afford us lowly Nano owners the same courtesy
I certainly hope they decide to do the right thing and issue a firmware update that will allow gapless playback on the Nano what a shame

Thanks, much appreciated. But, dang it, I can't for the life of me figure out how to send a PM. The option just doesn't seem to exist (I know, I must seem like a total n00b).

Hi,
I don't know if i have some kind of super ears or...
But my new 20" iMac (the one with isight build in) makes a very high frequency noise when it is off. Only when it is off actually.
It can be compared to the high frequency noise a normal television makes.
What about yours??
Mery Christmas everyone!
Kind regards,
Lars Petersen

just get a program called wiretap... play the song from your itunes... once the segment of the song you want to truncate comes on... enable the wiretap to start recording... once youve gotten what you need simply stop the recording...
wiretap will generate you an .aiff which you can move into itunes and convert to aac/mp3...
while you are recording be careful not to let the mac make any system noises since wiretap records ALL AUDIO/SOUNDS that your system makes...
it may not be the best way to do what you want, but it will do it, and do it free...
ive done this myself... theres a hidden track on one of my cd's that starts a few minutes after the last song, but not on a different track... i used wiretap to isolate each song and eliminate the dead space by creating two tracks...

Hello,
I am starting to be really confused with Image, ImageRep, View, GraphicsContext, etc.
On one hand, what I have found in books and blogs focuses mainly on recipes. On the other hand, I am finding the Cocoa Drawing Guide from Apple documentation really overwhelming.
Does anyone has something else to recommend ?
Thanks,
Paul

It is better than MDP, as it supports chaining of two external monitors from the one port, which MDP does not. Plus like a further 4 TB devices as well all in the chain.
I read this article http://circlesixmagazine.com/?p=4056 that basically said the same thing. Only, to clarify, it's not just 4 TB of devices more. I was under the impression that you could do up to 4 1080p monitors, with hard drives, or anything else, a digital mixer, a video capture card, etc.. The real question will be can you loop in more than 10TB worth of stuff and, so long as it's not monitors, have the use of them be determined by available bandwidth. What do you think?

Actually I believe what we were talking about was how much cheaper units can function as computer displays.
My 13" CRT can function as a display too. That doesn't mean it's going to give me good picture quality and high resolution. Cheap TV's are cheap for a reason.

What's a modem? :)
It's quite likely you use one to get online (dialup, DSL, or cable). ;)

My personal take on why the iPhone is the one phone AT&T won't unlock after your contract ends is because iPhones are costly hardware with expensive data plans. In general, iPhone users pay more for the hardware and service, and presumably people with more money travel more often. And to keep things simple, a significant fraction of those customers would rather roam internationally, partly for the convenience of using their actual cell phone number, and partly for not needing to jump through any hoops. Whenever I travel, I take an unlocked flip phone and buy a local prepaid SIM card. It's super cheap, but it does get annoying to deal with new phones numbers and manual reloading of calling credit. Hence the reason why AT&T wouldn't want to unlock out-of-contract iPhones; users may travel with them and provide AT&T profit through roaming charges.
In other words, they are preventing you from using alternatives (with your own personal property) so that they have the opportunity to rape you for roaming charges, over and above the services you are contractually obligated to continue to pay for over the term of your contract. That may indeed be a big reason why they don't want to do it, but that doesn't make it right. It's your property. You ought to be able to use it with any carrier you choose, regardless of if you are still under contract. The contract should only determine what you pay them and for how long, and what service they will provide to you over that period. It should not determined, over and above those terms, how you are allowed to use your own property.

I've not ever seen pop-ups on this site in the 2 years I've been visiting.
Could it be from another site you might have up in the background?

Sounds plausible, except for the delay.
Guessing Apple will re announce the white iPhone 4 on WWDC and compensate the delay with adding the A5. And hey, the black one will get it too. Sounds cheap, but anything is better than my good ol' 3G right now.
