Tired of Apple's locked ecosystem
Switching to Android.
I travel to China half of the year, I NEED and unlocked phone so that i can pop in my Chinese SIM card when i'm there.
iPhone is just not for me.
FU Apple.... so much for Freedom in the US.
You can buy factory unlocked on the Swiss Apple Online-store (maybe in other countries too)

Accountants, for eBay or PayPal transactions??
Come on kids, it's the 21st Century.
The Feds only need to dictate a template of data required for each transaction.
Fill in the blanks, send it to Washington, and a year-end tax bill is created.
How hard is that?
We all know which side of that equation you're on fivepoint ...
Oh, and 5P has left the building, for an undermined amount of time. ;)

Competition regulation in many EU countries require apple (or providers) to unlock any handsent with some restrictions (you may have to prove you've waited a certain time, or you are required to pay a fee etc), but I know that in France for example the provider that sells the iPhone there is required to unlock any handsent provided it was sold at least 6 months ago, for a 100 euros. Even if it wasn't bought/sold in France.
Some countries like Belgium don't even allow sim locked phones (or used to not allow) and some carriers sell them with out sim lock by choice in others, like Slovakia, and then some other countries I think can only unlock phones that are locked to a certain providers network, like Hungary T and Voda I think can only unlock T and Voda iPhones respectively, but perhaps phones bought on other networks (Ie T-mobile Germany, or Voda UK or New Zealand or whatever) some of these services maybe taking advantage of these work arounds. If this is the case, these unlocks are legal and Apple has no legal way of relocking these phones. IE in france they HAVE to unlock your phone even if it is ATT... or one would think so logically. Although this info maybe off, but it was definatley the case during iPhone 3g sales...

I don't think it's the gold contacts, I have cleaned both of them them with some alcohol, so maybe I just need to replace the print head.

It's cute that people think Comex actually ever made a working Jailbreak for iPad 2.
I wish I could photoshop my way to 200k followers on Twitter.

Because their billions sitting in the bank somehow magically make jobs.
To bring it back to the Michael Moore interview, look at how hard it is to get a loan these days. His point, and mrkramer's as well, is that if the money is just sitting in a bank it's doing less than if it circulated.

It has to be able to hold 728x90 pixel sized banners. The space below the first story will not do this.

Well that's kinda hypocritical posting in an Apple forum. Apple tries 100x harder to prevent users from jailbreaking than Android\Manufacturers do try to prevent rooting\modding.
i agree they do seem to try harder. i dont think of it as me being hypocritical ( or maybe it is? :) ). i just hold android to a higher standard... it's supposed to be about openness... that's what i feel google intended. if i'm going to get one (which i probably will eventually) i want to be able to do what i want with it without the manufacturer/provider on my back

I like 1Password (http://agilebits.com/products/1Password/Mac) for archiving my serial numbers and other passwords. You can even store the email in 1Password as reference.
How do you use 1Password to store email? I own 1Password. Never knew it did that.

I've been on iClarified. I am doing the right stuff, it just isn't working. The application shuts down after a few minutes.
You might be missing the ipad file. See the link below which other discuss here;

I was getting ready to go to Chinatown (about 30 blocks away from WTC) to meet a Jewish friend from Virginia for his first authentic dim sum experience when I had the urge to check my email first. The New York Times web page loaded horribly slow, and pics didn't come up, but I made out the headline...
...I had no cable, so all television was out except for Channel 2 (CBS), whose antenna was at the Empire State Building. It stayed that way for over a month, I think.

Personally, I would say,If you want to design a new Mac Website, just do it !
I have my own websites and do it for the fun of doing it.
I don't think you can oversaturate the Mac market. If people like your new site then they will come back, start small and personal and you should get some visitors.
Have a think of what interests you and work from that, I personally use my experience from working with Mac's for so long; and so one of my sites is a help forum: you can put up what ever you want that's the fun bit, if you don't like it or get no visitors you can always change it.
Let us know how you get on.
Regards
Ric

With all of these rumors of the timeline shifting, it makes it hard for people who WANT an iPhone to not look towards other options.
People who want an iPhone will buy an iPhone.

Stopped reading there.
I agree completely.
Once you hear "analyst" in a report or rumour you know it has more to do with them trying to buy or sell some shares than anything based on fact. I don't think I have seen one comment from Piper Jaffrey or other analysts being factually accurate unless they are reporting from an official press release, and even so you have to be careful. :)

As far as the guarantees go, this is what I see at negrielectronics.com (http://negrielectronics.com/apple-iphone-unlocking-service-permanent-solution.html) right now:
Your iPhone is now unlocked permanently!
Unlocked. Permanent. 100% Guaranteed or your money back*.
Your order may require verification. Please look for an email from us to further verify your order. This is a high fraud item and we take every precaution and approach fraud very seriously.
*(If the unlock is not successful, please email us a video link showing your IMEI and the unlock being unsuccessful).
**To deter possible fraud, we also reserve the right to remotely lock your device by IMEI
That's awfully tempting...they accept major CCs. You could always dispute the charge...

...something to help keep my vector skills sharp and maybe it will even yield some possible portfolio pieces?
Well, yeah, that too. Always good to keep things ticking over. Now and then, I do free/pro-bono work for small charities and non-profits in order to contribute something useful to communities, to keep me from becoming too stale, to network and build up recommendations etc. One or two pieces from that have ended up in various portfolios over the years as well.
If I'm doing work for free, then I'd rather spend it doing real-world exercises, working with briefs and clients towards a mutual goal, instead of doing stuff for myself.

I bet sales of the whitebook have tanked since October. Only reason to buy a whitebook was because you could not afford a macbook pro. The air is even better than 13" MBP in everything but raw cpu power, and lack of some ports.
