I assume you are enjoying a New Glarus Spotted Cow while visiting Wisconsin. It is difficult to find outside their border because they don't distribute out of Wisconsin. I like Spotted Cow but New Glarus also offers some other quite tasty brews as well.

Well I'm a pro user and i welcome the new FCP and it's price.
I have a decent budget since I work for a corporation.
If I lost my job or decided to go on my own, $299 would make it easier to deal with than a seat with Avid.
Ive had the luxury of having full support with Avid since 2001 plus Digidesign and Autodesk/Alias Maya totaling at roughly 6k per year.
If anyone thinks that Apple is dropping the price to get out of the pro biz then maybe it's time to try something else.

Jon Stewart seems to have goofed here, and there's the problem. There's no way unring this bell. Jon missed about 90% of the story, and according to his views, opening a criminal investigation is not ok if it'd going to cause the plaintiff bad publicity, or if the plaintiff seems "mean."
Jon needs to stick to political commentary, which is usually a lot easier to play with than scenarios that involve finer points of law.
Section 2080 of the Civil Code provides that any person who finds and takes charge of a lost item acts as "a depositary for the owner." If the true owner is known, the finder must notify him/her/it within a reasonable time and "make restitution without compensation, except a reasonable charge for saving and taking care of the property." Id. � 2080. If the true owner is not known and the item is worth more than $100, then the finder has a duty to turn it over to the local police department within a reasonable time. Id. � 2080.1. The owner then has 90 days to claim the property. Id. � 2080.2. If the true owner fails to do so and the property is worth more than $250, then the police publish a notice, and 7 days after that ownership of the property vests in the person who found it, with certain exceptions. Moving along, Gawker Media better be ready to defend themselves because shield laws won't help if you've committed a felony in order to do a story. That US$5,000 payment is a major smoking gun if Apple can prove the prototype iPhone was officially stolen, which means Gawker Media paid to buy stolen property, a felony in the state of California.

If Apple top Google Maps on Android as it is today then hats off to them as Google Maps is fantastic. Im really looking forward to seeing what Apple can do.
Well, Google Maps app on android originated from the one on the iPhone so I think Apple has got full potential to do it.
The only thing they need is data and I am sure they can do a better job than google.

Most people have dynamic IP addresses so how does EyeTV handle it when your IP address changes when you are watching it over the internet (not a local network).

True. You have a very good point I don't argue against. Windows takes much more maintenance. However, the security for a small business is not that hard to control for admins. Antivirus applications combined with strict security policies are very effective. Clients don't have admin rights, and that helps prevent dangerous applications from being installed.
But going to the Mac simply to lower the threat of viruses is still not the most efficient choice in our business. That is my point, and a point most business use in making purchasing decisions. They cost savings of a better secuered OS (OS X) is not worth losing some core applications.

When you preordered the iPhone from Best Buy did they check your AT&T account first to see if you qualify?
I don't specifically recall, but I don't think they checked my account first to see if I qualified; the sales rep did ask me if I was buying the phone with a new plan or if it was an upgrade. Since I had checked the AT&T site the other day, I already knew that I did qualify.

One can always hope. But when has this ever NOT been true for a Microsoft operating system? Windows 95 ran poorly on computers released when 3.1 was out. Windows XP had compatibility issues with many Win 98 boxes. Etc, etc. This has always been true for them. The only difference now is how long XP has been out without being significantly updated.
