So questions about the sensors on the 2010 Mac Mini.
Are the 2 sensors on the hard drive the same part.
Being the idiot that I am, I broke the sensor that mounts on the hard drive its self. I have been looking for a part number or part to order and the only thing I can come up with is
Apple Part #: 076-1360
****After 45 minutes with a call center in India they are saying the sensor is part number 076-1369...any thought?
Now this sensor is the one that mounts on the sata conector...any ideas if it will work for the back as well?
My fan is running at a constant speed ot 5500rpm....at least I know it will stay cool.
Oh and by the way, I replaced my stock Toshiba 320gb 5400rpm drive with a Hitachi 7k5...WOW amazing upgrade. I clocked a direct copy of a file that was 2.29gb and the Toshiba was 2min55sec and the Hitachi did it in 1min1sec... 2 minutes FASTER!
I need help ASAP as this is my main machine right now.

Reply 1: Who cares? How many Netflix downloads are free movies? BFD.
Reply 2: Nonsense. You can adjust the font, the size, the background color and the brightness. I'm surprised you didn't trot out the "backlit screen hurts your eyes" myth as well.
You just keep trying. Maybe one day, many years from now when information is streamed to our brain implants and displayed on our artificial corneas, Apple will fail to sell a single iPad and you will declare "I told you it was going to be a massive FAIL."
I do not feel any eye strain and I have read a good 5000 book pages or so in the Kindle app on the iPad. The only downside is the screen glare outside, the kindle is still better for that.
I have also ready a dozen novels or so on my iPhone, so maybe I have unusually strong eyes :)

I am trying to get my printer to work on my powerbook. It is a HP Officejet k60. On the HP site they don't have any drivers for MacOS, but they do have one for Linux. Will the Linux driver work on my Mac? I have tried installing it, and my Linux is a little weak, but when I try to run the make command it tells me I don't have a compiler installed. Now when I had Linux on my PC I rememeber I had to run the setup utility to install all the developer tools. Is this a similar issue? Is there a compiler on the CD that came with my Mac? If not, where can I download one?
Am I going about this in the wrong way? I thought that OSX was supposed to eliminate the need to install drivers and such. Cause my PC can use this printer withouut any drivers at all installed. In fact, HP recommeds that you just let XP do its thing and not install a thing from the CD that came with it cause it was pre-XP drivers. Shouldn't OSX be able to do the same? I mean I can see it in the Print Center, but it says "Driver not installed" right beside it and it won't let me add it.
I'm sorry, this is probly a retarded question, but I have had my Mac for less than a week now. And with school around the corner I kind need this printer working pronto.

That is correct. I've subscribed to their tethering plan but the personal hotspot item doesnt show up under settings/network. I'm guessing at this point that something about the jailbreak is suppressing this - or perhaps the mywi install?
I'd call up AT&T.
They might need to reset your accounts tethering access.

I believe individuals in a healthy free market generally determine their own fate. The emphasis there should be on "healthy". There are many instances of disease in your free market, many of those seeming to favour the obscenely unequal distribution which is a symptom of that disease.

You may have 18GB free HDD capacity, but Boot Camp needs the space it wants to partition in a continouos area, thus if you have 18GB free, the 10GB you want to partition might not be continouos enough for Boot Camp.
The only way to do this, would be to clone your existing Mac OS X installation onto an external HDD, then erasing the internal HDD while booted from Mac OS X on the external HDD and then cloning it all back.
Use CarbonCopyCloner (http://www.bombich.com) or SuperDuper (http://www.shirt-pocket.com/superduper/superduperdescription.html) to make a 1:1 copy.

I just hope that iWork is mature enough by then to handle the office needs of some users.
I'm sure that it will be. Remember that Microsoft has recently signed a contract to continue developing Mac Office for the next five years, and that maybe part of the agreement was that Apple would keep iWorks 'underpowered.' But with the 'Numbers' and 'Charts' trademarks, do you not think that maybe iWorks '07 might replace Appleworks, which is no longer supplied with new Macs? A more mature Pages and Keynote plus some kind of spreadsheet app would be fine for the majority of users.

if your talking about accidental dialing try AskToCall makes you confirm dialing
AskToCall is a nice tweak, really stops the 'pocket dialing' for me. I used it for about a week....but removed it yesterday.
I was thinking it was causing some battery usage and/or sluggishness issues and was removing apps one by one to see which may have been the culprit.
I'll be re-installing it....but thinking about re-installing iOS 4.1 first (on iOS 4.3.2 now, which is probably the issue in the first place).

I use an Epson Workforce 1100 with Cobra Ink pigment CISS installed from Cobra. I really do love it. Went with the 50ml tanks and got a full set up their 100+ml refill bottles. Quality wise its good and I am happy with it. The cobra system installed and filled by them is WELL worth the money, no need to run the lines yourself, or fill and bleed the tanks.

Cool.
I've already removed the HD from the 12".
I've had a a look at ifixit for the 15" and it certainly does look A LOT more straightforward I have to say!
Great. Let us know how it all works out.

A. Which version of Xcode?
B. What kind of file are you pasting into? .cpp, .mm, something else?
C. If you disable syntax coloring, does the problem disappear?
A) 3.2 (or whatever the latest on 3 is)
B) it is a relatively lengthy .cpp file
c) I am not sure, I will check that
How much free space available on the boot drive, and what size drvie, before the paste operation?
Some 40GB worth of space (getting to the point I need a new drive!)
If this is an issue with the syntax highlighter, then it wouldn't be this code per se, but the context in which the code is being inserted. I notice that it's really deeply indented (or at least for my style it is).
Yeah it is fairly nested unfortunately as a result of a lot of logic :(
It is possible that the use of "i" as an iterator was causing problems as this was nested in another larger loop using the variable "i" in an alternate iterator.
Maybe xcode just goes insane trying to track the variables if you do this? STill seems weird to lag that badly.

Apparently there was AT&T iPad 2s available today. Did anyone pick one up?
How do you know? I called to ask and they said they got nothing today as they get no shipments on Sunday.

Try System preferences -> Sound-> Output, make sure the jack in selected under output not internal speakers. Restart itunes to make sure it recognizes the switch. Maybe test a set of headphones to ensure the jack is working properly. On the tv it should list right next to the input what it actually is, make sure the tv is set to that input and make sure it is an input not output. If it still doesn't work let us know.
