This is a great thing. Now I wonder if this will support tmobile calls over wifi.
And I hope they sell the phone for higher fee upfront, and lower monthly fees.
That would rock

At 43 mins you get a 100% bonus, 17k PPD...
alright then. i'd say that's reason enough to run bigadv units on your 920 at stock speed

If apple got their dual-band world phone out a year earlier, for all carriers, it would have made a huge difference!!!! I can't believe apple is delaying the iPhone 5!!!!!!!!!!
I am not apple, so I am probably wrong, but delaying the IPhone 5 seems like the worst business decision ever!!!!!!!!!
The iPhone 5 better be a major upgrade that makes it better than all the other devices out there, and better be on all carriers!!!!
They have the number 1 and number 2 top selling smartphones out there.
Bringing out the iPhone 5 now would be a mistake when you are sitting at the top of the heap with your current hardware.
So you push it back a bit and make the devices even better, giving you an even bigger advantage in the next generation.
Imagine the iPhone 4 sitting in the 3GS position a year from now. It will be amazing you can get a phone like that for the price it will be available for...
The android handset makers don't jump up and down with glee because Android has more overall users. It is not good for any of them individually. In fact it is bad for them.

Future is lookin pretty cool.
Not sure how Thunderbolt works, as I'm sure not everyone does yet. But is this a technology that can evolve on its own? As USB 2.0 and 3.0?

Disappointing, but expected. This actually brings up more questions than answers though:
1) Is this a permanent move to a Fall Release of the iPhone?
2) When, if ever, are they going to unite the CDMA and GSM iPhone releases (possibly in iPhone 5 with "World Chip")?
3) Does this affect the timing of iOS's release, which has traditionally been released with the new iPhone and has been centered around the iPhone's hardware?
4) The iPod touch has traditionally been released months after the iPhone. If the iPhone is released around Sept, will they release the iPod touch along with it?
.
Exactly. Good questions: I would love to get a CDMA.GSM world phone. I guess it will have to be a Blackberry.

i recently got a ps3 slim, does ps3 folding rely on ps3 linux?
i don't think so. i'm pretty sure folding works on the slim. it's inside "life with playstation" or something like that.

Sometimes. The little squirt just got home from the vet. I took him outside and he ran around a lot. So brought him back in and he went right over to the TV and pooped and peed. Ugh. 9/10 he is using the pads or outside but that 1/10 is making my house smell. Thank goodness for Resolve for Pets.
I must say, I'm blessed with a really good little guy. He goes out of his way to get to the pad. I can't ask for better.

do you guys think i should just go ahead and buy a macbook then? i would love a MBP, but its to expensive.. im just a highschool student, and the black would really be great.
i dont know what to do :(
If you need it now buy it now! But when the macbooks get upgraded they may have a price drop and more ram and faster CPU and maybe even better graphics, just wait aslong as you can and if they havent had upgrades then your just gunna have to live with that..

What product will the T-Mobile chic bash now???
You know how fickle women can be, so does it really matter?!
Oops, just made somebody's hit list. Let me rephrase that...
As a woman, the T-Mobile "chic" has the right to change her mind! Thus probably will bash Android Fragmentation! :D

Don't forget, ALL consoles lose money when they first ship.
Nintendo never sold any console at a loss.
I tend to agree with you, but that is just business, and Microsoft is good at it. If we want to point fingers, point them at the consumers. The only reason Microsoft still pours money into things is because people will still buy their products. Microsoft also uses their position of having a large amount of disposable cash. If their product sucks, people won't buy it, and Microsoft suffers.
If that were true, Microsoft would never have been able to survive after Windows 95.
If a product sucks but almost everyone else is using it, most people will use it too.

No HDD brand is fail proof.
Yes, but there has been a massive fail rate in IBM Desktar Models (Hitatchi has bought the IBM hard drive division after). I know the problem won't appear again, and that the current Desktar only shares the name with the problematic one, but I prefer to stay away from Hitatchi drives. There are other brands, and they are priced similarly. I'm losing nothing here.

The 35W is only the TDP of the processor. It doesn't include the harddrive, screen, chipset, battery charger, etc. So that's perfectly normal.
Also, TDP is not a perfectly accurate figure for power draw. It's the maximum a computer designer should budget for, both in terms of power supply, cooling, etc. So it means that in any case the sustained power draw of the processor alone won't exceed this.
It is, however, perfectly possible that the CPU draws much less power, even in a high-load situation. That could possibly be true for the current C2D's in the MBA, because they are a bit older and therefore intel might have got the process developed a bit more efficiently. So it could well be that the C2D's are working at powers below their TDP budget, while the Sandy Bridge ones are reaching the top of their budget.
Ah, that clears things up a bit.
But as stated, I'd like to see the power draw for the C2D+320M. Certainly then, in taking out the other power-suckers in the machine, that C2D+320M combo would draw more power than the LV i5 processor alone, would it not?

Your definition of a "professional" app seems mighty arbitrary, even to the extent of excluding most applications that exist. Specialized databases that are designed for a specific industry wouldn't meet your definition. Computer-Aided-Machining (CAM) software (which is only useful in one industry) wouldn't meet your definition. I could go on, but I think you get my point.
No, I don't get your point. CAM software is used in a variety of industries. Auto companies, airline companies, boat industries, tools industries, machine shops, agricultural industries. But if the CAM software is a mature useful standard in those industries it is probably a very capable pro app. Like wise customized databases would not be a pro app in itself. The database program used is the pro app not the specific database.
So now you're adding another level of definition to what it takes to be a "professional" app? Some percentage of people have to know about it? And where do you draw the line? Gee, I guess this means that any start-up company trying to produce a new professional application is doomed because how can they ever reach this percentage upon the release so their product can be considered "professional"?
It is not another level of defiintion. Industry standard implies that most professionals use it, Doesn't it?
Yes, it is very very difficult for a startup company to produce a competitive pro app in a mature industry. It takes several years for a product to mature and recieve user feedback and multiple modifications before I would classify it as "Pro". That is why these are difficult markets to crack.

Poster wasn't stirring the pot.
No, I guess this guy wasn't bashing Google at all :
Learn from Google? What has Google developed that's anything close to an OS?
The fact is, Android/Chrome OS have a lot in common with the efforts Apple put forth into making iOS/OS X. Both companies are well placed to learn from each other and this crap doesn't belong in this thread.
just so you know, summer begins june 21 and ends sept 23 this year. so even it it comes out sept 22, its still a summer release.
Yes, I am quite aware of this fact, thank you for pointing it out to other posters who might say "an august release isn't a summer release!" though.

I am not a gamer but still will not buy an MBA with an i series chip if it means I have to suffer Intel's woefully weak integrated graphics processor. I bought an early 13 inch Ultimate in October and plan to keep it for at least three years. It handles everything I throw at it easily so until and unless it won't do that anymore I don't plan to replace it.
I'm the same boat.. at first I was pretty P.O.ed that Apple would be downgrading the GPU.. but then realized 'hey dummy, you just bought your MBA 13 Ultimate.. you won't be replacing it for 2-3 years anyways".. by that time hopefully Intel will have a better chipset.. or perhaps Apple will figure out how to put a true graphics board in the MBA :)
The ONLY thing that concerns me.. if two years from now my MBA fails and has to be replaced and not repaired.. I assume Apple would give me a new one under Apple Care.. which would be a downgrade for me, as I do some gaming.

You can file an anticipatory mark. The key is intent to use. ...
I get the feeling you missed this:
...You have to demonstrate the current or intended future use of the name or phrase...
I acknowledged the intent to use aspect.

Call me crazy, but I'd not be surprised if Leopard was a free update for Tiger owners - if not all Mac owners.
You're crazy. :) But one thing I would like to see is a free upgrade to iLife for everyone who upgrades Leopard. Or else some kind of Leopard / iLife buy-together discount. That would be most welcome.
