I just put iTunes on a PC. I also have a Mac. :D
My question is I have some songs on the PC that are windows media files I think. How do I import them into iTunes? I tryed doing the import and finding the songs but they did not show as if they were not there?
Or how can I convert those windows media files to a MP3 file?
Man I like my Mac much better. :D
Thank You
Jeff

I only have 229 posts... :(
Also I'm not exactly looking to sell... I just wanted to gauge what it could sell for... it's under consideration right now though amongst a few things I want to sell.
I wasn't intending on offering to sell it on Macrumors in any way though.
I can't even see the Marketplace forum... where the heck is it?
You can't see the Marketplace, as you don't have 250+ posts yet. See the above post with the excerpts of the rules.
You are not allowed for pricing advise outside of the Marketplace. See the above post with the excerpts of the rules.
Why don't you price your MBP and then your SSD and get an estimate via that way?

I have the ARC-1880i card so I can answer some of your questions
1. Setup. Very straightforward ARECA provides a web interface that is very reliable
2. Reliability. So far I had no problems, I cannot say the same for highpoint, with that card I already had 2 RAID 5 crashes. The areca is handling an array of 4 SSDs on RAID 0 (I perform daily backups for this one to a velociraptor)
3.I just flashed the EFI driver following NANOFROG's advice and with that I was able to boot from the SSD that look as a 480GB image to OS X
4.Cable setup. I have 2 SAS-SATA cables and was able to route them to the second ODD were I have the 4 SSD drives

I hate how you have to download the entire OS every time there's a small update like this. 666MB for a few bug fixes... Also, what's up with the 666MB? Maybe we should stay away from this update guys lol.
Mine shows 650.2MB...hmmmm interesting

Flash isn't exactly new technology as first NANDs were released back in 1987. However, NANDs have not offered much capacity before today. Back in the biggest NAND we had was 1GB. I think 2.5" SSDs can hold up to 16 NANDs so this would result in capacity of 16GB. The biggest HD in 2005 was 500GB, which had more than 30 times bigger capacity than the best SSD could have offered back then.
Right now, we have a lot bigger NANDs. The biggest ones used in SSDs are 32GB I think but Toshiba has already announced a 128GB NAND. I don't know when they are shipping them but 64GB should already be available. 16x128GB would give you 2TB! In the mean time, HDs have not developed that much. In 6 years, the HD capacity has only become 6 times greater (500GB -> 3TB). In that same time, NANDs have become 64 times bigger in capacity (1GB -> 64GB).
Okay, that is it for the history lesson and why we didn't have SSDs until now. The reason why I think SSDs are still so expensive is the huge demand for NANDs. SSDs use the same flash memory as lots of other products, i.e. NANDs. If you look at the industry now, a lot products are using NANDs. Phones, tablets, TVs, computers... Pretty much all electronics with some kind of an operating system. Smart phones have become very popular during the last few years. Tablets are still very new but they are also becoming popular.
When the demand is big, then the manufacturers can keep the prices up because people will buy it anyway. What would your iPhone be without a nice amount of storage? Or would you prefer a hard drive in it which would make it a lot bigger and heavier? Those devices simply cannot be what they are without NANDs. This means OEMs must buy NANDs, no matter what the price is.

Thank. That is what i wanted to know. Do you know of any other services?
Just a little heads-up:
Spotify is apparently launching in the US in Q1 2010. This will presumably include their advertising-supported service that comes at no charge. This one is definitely worth waiting for.
Of course, a lot of CDs can also be listened to on Last.fm (http://last.fm), although it definitely seems to have gotten more restrictive nowadays and fewer albums allow a complete play-through instead of short previews.

I had a 10% off coupon for buy.com, so I just bought it off them - I'm assuming that you already sold your iCurve anyway, cuz I would've rather bought it from you than from buy.com!

I agree it is a pain in the ass. I hated Column View when I first used it, but now I hate it when Finder decides to open a folder in any other view anything else. I have had the experience less since I updated to 10.3.8.

I was getting the oil changed in my car and was in the customer lounge when the first plane hit - and stayed to see the second one hit. I then left for work and got in an argument with my boss, who saw no reason to cancel an architecture meeting we had planned.
The meeting was cancelled - the room was being used by employees to watch CNN.

You mean my spouse's Rodgers drums were double kick? I better let them know. ;)
baha nah not like that, not the actual act of having two bass drums.. just the action of using two kick pedals in a song - i.e. double kick. thats what australian drummers refer to it as, i guess its different in the US/etc.

The numbers in graphs:
http://www.macworld.com/article/159363/2011/04/apple_2q_earnings_2011.html
I'm very surprised at the strong iPhone sales. I had never expected this change of pace in Q4 2010 and onwards when Android competition has been stronger than ever.
It's interesting to note that the Mac sales have followed the iPhone sales although with less wildly rocketing sales. Clearly a synergy effect here.
Those worried about the Mac can take comfort in that they're still making better revenue than the iPad. :) Additionally - when the iPads have been on the rise, the Macs have been too.

Don't think of a job interview just in terms of skills and knowledge. Try and put yourself in the head of the manager who will be your boss. The ideal candidate would be someone super smart, helpful etc... but a manager's fears when they interview are:
- the new recruit will need a load of supervision
- they will do or say something costly or embarrassing
- they will undermine the team, or fail to work with others in a positive and helpful way
So while you're answering questions and showing off your knowledge, also throw in stuff which will reassure that you're 'not that guy'.

The St. George Au Web banking site has a heart attack every time it sees Safari, and tells me to use IE or Netscape, the flaw is, there is a little continue button at the bottom, and when clicked on, allows you to continue using Safari. The funny thing is, there is numerous banners all displaying 'NOT COMPATIBLE WITH XP SERVICE PACK 2' all over the site. WTF?
Sounds like your bank has a gang of idiots managing the web site.
I can understand it if they don't test against Opera. I can even understand not testing against Safari - there are still tons of Windows bigons designing web sites (and sites created with FrontPage by people who coldn't make the page compatible if they wanted to.) But incompatible with XPSP2? That's just plain incompetance. SP2 was available in preview form for over six months - plenty of time for them to test and fix their site.
They obviously don't care about their customers very much.

My first-gen :apple:TV streams Apple Lossless 24-bit 96kHz files from iTunes through the digital port to my Harmon Kardon amplifier just fine. The HK would recognize them as 96kHz too (but didn't display the number of bits it was receiving). It sounds GREAT!

Re: Yeah and Disney is shut down the service after 8 months with little or no interest in the service. And is going to cost them $30 million to shut it down and as Disney and Apple sharehold it think it is a bad business model to be in.
Yeah, this is like saying selling legal music downloads is bad since Wal-Mart has not been as successful as Apple.
Granted, I would most likely never purchase a Disney phone. However, I would certainly consider purchasing an Apple phone. Apple knows as well as its user base than an Apple phone has to work and have cool features either not available elsewhere or features that "just work." Google has been built on the Apple model of simple is better. Powerful features are available, but not placed front and center as akward apps made by less successful companies.

Hi,
for all the guys "needing, wanting, must have" the SSDs, read this:
I'm using a SSD (256GB) since over a year (almost two now) in my MacBook and one in another machine since almost a year and they didn't fail yet :-) .... and a good backup is always a must, no matter if you have SSD or HD. I had plenty of HD fail on me - backup is a must no matter what. And as always: do some research about the brand and if possible the model you buy, that will reduce the risk of failing a lot (true for SSD and HD).
